Richard P. Ohlenberg

Richard P Ohlenberg served as Chair of the Criminal Law Section of the MSBA from 2008-09, and was actively involved with the Criminal Law Section for several years prior to becoming Chair. He also served on the Section’s Executive Committee as the 2010-11 Criminal Law Section Treasurer. Mr. Ohlenberg is the principal of the Ohlenberg Law Office located in St. Louis Park, MN. Mr. Ohlenberg also has a satelite office located in Richfield at 7400 Lyndale Avenue S, Suite 140, Richfield, MN 55423. Mr. Ohlenberg has over 16 years of criminal defense experience and is licensed in both Minnesota federal and state courts. Mr. Ohlenberg has spoken at numerous Minnesota CLE seminars and was a featured speaker at the seminar entitled: “Intersection of Criminal and Immigration Law” held on January 28, 2010 in Minneapolis, MN. Mr. Ohlenberg was a participant in the Minnesota Supreme Court’s Criminal Justice Forum reviewing and recommending cost reduction proposals to the Court System chaired by Chief Justice Eric Magnuson (2008-09). Mr. Ohlenberg has been a member of the Minnesota Society for Criminal Justice (MSCJ) since 2008, which is a group of criminal defense attorneys who meet monthly to discuss current topics in the area of criminal law.

Mr. Ohlenberg graduated in 1997 from the William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, and also holds an MBA degree in finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business, and a B.A. in economics from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.

Mr. Ohlenberg has also been an Adjunct Faculty member at Inver Hills Community College which is part of the MNSCU system for the fall of 2011 teaching “Investigative and Interviewing Techniques” and “Constitutional Law”
